Update: went back to hotel After seeing my AirPods ping back there and was met by the director of rooms, Nikki Crenshaw, who was absolutely amazing. She already knew who I was and was already investing my claim. She was very thorough and kept in contact with the general manager while also helping me and was able to find my AirPods. Both Nikki and the GM were very apologetic and assured me this is not a common thing at all, which I very much believed with the way they jumped to action and were being very in-depth working with the information I had and they information they had. They did everything possible to ensure I ended my vacation on a high note. Besides being extremely helpful with the above, the rooms were very nice and they did not have thin walls which is normally a problem I have when staying at hotels. The lobby is gorgeous and its very central to the Riverwalk and all the fun shops and things to do. At first I was very impressed with the service at this hotel. The valet was great and the front desk receptionist was very friendly. Everything was going great or so I thought until I realized I had misplaced my AirPods. Went to check find my to see where they were after realizing I had left them at the hotel. Instead of still showing at the hotel , there were showing several miles away in a residential area obviously meaning they had been stolen by housekeeping. Instead of bringing them to the front desk to be reported as lost and from what room so that the hotel front desk could reach out to the person who had stayed there the night before ( knowing this is how it works after having worked at a hotel myself).
First time in San Antonio i definitely needed to point out this is one of the best hotels I've stayed. Many reason because of the staff. Valets are amazing. Gentleman by the name of Q greeted us and made sure we had the best experience. Never expected Valet to be this awesome. All of them are constantly working and helping customers. Thank You Q and rest of the Valet staff. Last note you must try the food as well. Head Chef is Amazing as well and food was much better then some of the restaurants I went. I would recommend this place any time.
Centrally located which is the only redeeming quality. This location refuses to hire a doorman so you can't even get to the lobby to check in. Some entrances aren't even functional. A man was shampooing carpets at the bar at 8 at night. Coffee maker didn't work in the room, they replaced it but just dumped the broken one on its side and left it, I even found the drip tray in my luggage. The elevators are unbelievably slow and its not from an excess of guests. There are contradictory signs everywhere stating the wrong hours for various amenities. You cannot check-in using your hilton app or check out. Get ready for an absurd line every day for check-in because of this. Valet is 51$ a day with tax and they park your car in the 10$ garage 1 block away. The employees are trying but this place has put a bad taste in my mouth for a brand I used to trust. Definitely not the worst hotel I've stayed at but its the worst Hilton hotel by a mile.
