Holiday Inn Express Saint John Harbour Side by IHG

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Saint John’s! The location was super convenient — close to be able to walk downtown, yet quiet enough for a peaceful night’s sleep. Our room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. One of the highlights for us was how pet friendly the hotel was. We were traveling with our 2 golden retrievers and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations with a great variety of options — fresh fruit, hot items, and good coffee. The staff came around with trays with fresh watermelon which was nice. The team working the front desk and breakfast area were consistently friendly and helpful. Overall, we’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone — especially if you’re traveling with pets and looking for a clean, reliable, and welcoming place to stay in Saint John’s!

Our trip had gone awry when my partner and I deplaned to find ourselves in Saint John opposed to our intended destination, Saint John’s in the middle of the night. Stressed but optimistic, we found ourselves greeted by Brandon at the Holiday Inn who was happy to help with our unusual request and help us in a rather unusual situation. Kindness begets kindness and Brandon’s actions are the pinnacle of exceptional service and hospitality. He was generous in sharing local information, happy to help us navigate our next steps and was able to accommodate our very brief stay. We are grateful and hope you stay with you all again, perhaps next time intentionally and for a bit longer. We hope Brandon’s kindness comes back to him tenfold. For others reading, this is also the cleanest/nicest holiday inn I’ve been in.

Overall we had a good experience here. The service was good, the breakfast was definitely above average for a complimentary hotel breakfast, and there was always lots of parking. Hot tub was nice and a good temperature. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Room for improvement: Beds were super squeaky. The box springs made so much noise every time one of us rolled over we woke up the other three (my wife and I stayed with our two teenage kids). Also room for improvement in the fitness area - very limited. Would be nice to have a few more weights (I think heaviest dumbbells were 30 pounds? And no other weight equipment other than that).
