I am truly struggling with my vocabulary to describe how great this place was. It is a place to be, to rest, to enjoy, to have fun, to meet people, to meditate and simply relax from your daily routine. I live in in London for past 11 years and have been working in hospitality industry for the past 15 years. For me those little things makes the massive difference. For instance, when you see an owner of the hotel cleaning the beach, bit by bit, with his hands, picking dry palm branches or whatsoever, you feel the guy puts the soul into it. I was fortunate enough to meet him. Great man, always around and constantly taking care of residents. These are simple, but most essential basics, how to treat your hospitality business. I personally seen, he is so on it. Every resident is important there. Service is positive, friendly and warm. They care and they love what they do. It was simply immaculate. House keeping, reception, restaurant, bar, pool - all neat and sharp. DJ's nights in bar, maaan you should have been there already, cause music was a real vibe! Moreover, only Dubai was able to compete with cleanliness of the pool. Literally, I have been to FIVE LUX in Dubai 1.5 month ago Guys, honestly, highly recommended, just go and experience the peace and the vibe of Caribbean!!!

Hotel was decorated with different types of unique paintings and art throughout.  The room was a good size. Bed was fairly comfortable,  however the sheets were rough and made my skin itch. Bathroom wasn't very large and could use some modern touches, but was clean. Room came with a fairly good size patio, where the mini fridge was located (perhaps an outlet issue). I did enjoy the lighting in the room. The pool was a fairly good size, but needed some upkeep. The plastic was quite ‘scratched’ or worn. There was a decent amount of seating, but the cushions were a bit weathered. They also had loungers along the beach which was very nice. Beach was actually a dock area, so very small identified swim area. Hotel grounds were fairly expansive. Hotel did have a restaurant. Buffet for breakfast was €18 without eggs or €22 with eggs. I opted for a cup of coffee for €3. Lunch didn't have a very large menu, with limited vegetarian options. I had a brie salad, which was very good.  Dinner was about the same, however my biggest issue with dinner was that it didn't open until 6pm. I got there around 3 for check-in and was hungry, but no other food nearby. Overall adequate hotel with a few annoyances.

Was hesitant to post this review but what happened to us I think needs to be said. I know this hotel had worked hard to build back after the hurricane but customer service whether we are paying customers or not needs improvement. Here are the details below. Flew out non stop JetBlue from SXM to Boston but the flight was cancelled on July 26 due to maintance issues. Flew home on Sunday July 27th. -We waited in the airport all day on Saturday telling us they were working on this issue. They never really updated us on the issue and every 30 min they said they were working on it. Eventually after 6 or more house they cancelled the flight. -We were offered $12 vouchers for food but food in the airport for a meal was more than 12 dollars. -We were promised two double beds for our party of 3 and had to accept a room with 1 king and a small trundle kid sized bed that I (32 year old female) barely fit on. -We were bussed to a hotel on the French side that you could tell was not equipt for such large crowds and was still trying to build its way back from the hurricane. No adapaters for outlets available so we could not charge our cell phones or other devices after spending all day in the airport. Check in lady was rude and said we had no other choice but to accept the accommodations. If we wanted it stay elsewhere it would be on our own dime. -Dinner was provided at the hotel but you could only pick pasta and beef or beans and rice and portions were small and you could only pick one. Only one water served with dinner as well and you could not have more. -Breakfast we were told it would take over and hour for a hot meal and we could not order as bus was coming at 9 am to bring us back to the airport. -After returning to the airport in the morning and going through the entire process again we finally flew out 24 hours later. Additionally when entering the room there was no AC on and the room smelled stale and musty. Walls are thin and there is no real beach.
