Horizons Lake Jindabyne

Unexpected and also lucky, we were given a newly renovated room. Clean and modern. Some of the photos posted on here i think are the older rooms. The one we stayed at looked much nicer. They are going through renovations right now. I'm guessing all the older rooms will eventually be renovated. Service was exemplary. An example, my parking space was a little dusty when arrived, which i had no problems with anyway. To my surprise, they had cleaned it when i left for the day to the mountains. They did this automatically without me notifying them. Every staff was friendly and greeted us. From the chef who had to scream good morning from the kitchen to the poor girl vacuuming the lobby at 6am. No one needs to be in such a good mood that early in the morning lol. Only gripes were the dining chairs could have been a little cleaner. But they are old and plus there are many families with kids dining at breakfast, so it can't always be super clean. And also, a door stop on the door that leads to the rooms would have been useful. The doors are locked, so i needed to unlock every time i go in when moving items from my car to the room. It became a little annoying when moving back and forth.

Great hotel and nice views from room. The buffet breakfast was amazing! I particularly enjoyed how the bacon and eggs were cooked, just perfect compared to other hotels.

Great location by the lake. We arrived early and were told we can’t check in until 2pm. Didn’t check to see if the room may have been ready. Room was in need of a refurb. Lots of damage on the table and everything looked dated. Breakfast was fantastic and really tasty. The staff were half asleep and really didn’t look like she wanted to be there. Stayed here 2 years ago and it’s definitely gone down hill since then. Quite expensive compared to other properties.
