Hotel Abdij Dokkum

Excellent hotel in city center of Dokkum. Historic building and rooms. Private parking on request. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Restaurant includes shared dining (share several dishes). Bicycles (e-bikes) can be stored in court yard of the hotel.

From the booking confirmation I had a feeling that I was going to like this hotel. These guys & girls have it right. Total customer satisfaction focus, thinking outside the box and anticipating your needs. Even before you arrive. Accommodation, blown away. Forget how clean was the room, that will never be an issue! Breakfast more than acceptable but definitely eat there in the evening. Not sure who is behind the menu and execution but intend to find out on my next visit. Sophisticated, doesn’t come close, has to be experienced. Every member of staff I encountered excelled, EVERY MEMBER.!!The Italian born Sommelier is so passionate about the hotel and “his” wines, you can trust his judgement without question. Location perfect. I will be back soon.

Nice hotel in Dokkum. Furnished with love and style. Excellent service. Here you feel valued as a guest. We stayed in suite #5 for 5 nights. A well-furnished room with a great bathroom and a very comfortable bed. However, the suite has 2 disadvantages: 1.) Only a lightweight wall separates it from the kitchen. That means you can hear everything clattering from the kitchen, conversations and the ringing of the bell for ready meals until after 11 p.m. If you're tired early, it's difficult to think about sleep. 2.) If you open the window in the bedroom, the exhaust air from the kitchen ventilation draws into the room. A pity. This affects the holiday enjoyment. You can park your car in the yard for an additional 15 euros. However, this is very narrow and we were blocked by a car without the reception being able to locate the owner. Annoying. In summary: A nice short vacation with slight weaknesses.
