Hotel B Urban Xaman

This hotel is inside of Hotel Fontan just a FYI. The room is very nice and clean. It has hot water and heat which can be hit or miss or non existent in DF. I didn't hear anyone next door but I believe for most of my stay I was the only one there. Service was good too. I arrived around 1:30am and I made sure to call to let them know and they said my name when I arrived which was nice. English speaking staff if needed. I did not go to any events or eat there. The room given to me had beautiful views of the mountains and city. Location is great for exploring.

Ambience and decoration are spot on, shared dpaces and lobbies are always richly scented. Rooms are spacious, and also share the decoration details that add the extra touch. Unfortunately, a very big drawback regarding the rooms is the AC units, they are old and dont work (had to ask to have mine replaced and the second unit still did not function properly). And another big issue with the room is the bathroom, it smells constantly of clogged pipes, we'd usually burn some of the provided incense to neutralise the smell.

It’s a great location. The concept and amenities are nice, but needs maintenance. I would not book here again, though. We did not have water in our first room. It had been turned off because the sink was leaking and needed to be completely removed. We had to report the leak, as they had not noticed. We were asked to pack up and they reassigned us from a two bedroom to a single bedroom. We asked for a 2-bed (as in our original booking), and they gave us a smaller room with a safe with no batteries and a view not as good as our first booking by an alley with taxi drivers who were noisy at night and early in the morning. Maintenance had to come late at night to adjust something in the shower so water would come out in this second room. Next day, our keys stopped working mid-stay. You can also hear other room neighbors at night. We spoke to the manager requested a price adjustment because of the inconveniences and slight downgrade, but the response was that they accommodated all our needs and the room is in the same “category” as the original, therefore they saw no reason to adjust. For the price, not a great experience. I regretted not looking into Airbnb stays instead.
