The hotel was very lovely and was definitely a premium experience. Constantly being updated and improved, rooms and halls were kept spotless even with people dragging sand in from the beach daily, I had a deluxe double room which was amazing and a view over the pool and the sea. The foyer was very elegant and the front desk staff were helpful and informative, especially about parking and prices (we rented a car), and parking underground was €10 a day) Bar staff were cool even though the pool bar had them making cocktails non stop all day. Cleaners as you would expect are fantastic at their jobs tipping them does not improve their work ethic because it's already top quality (I always do anyway and recommend you do too) we had access to the solarium which is a great getaway from usual poolside shenanigans so if you get a deluxe room definitely check it out, it's basically a place to go topless for women if you're not comfortable around the pool or beach, they have comfy beds and loungers, and is so quiet compared to the main pool and has a small pool, and a hot tub which unfortunately wasn't working when I stayed (only downside is the travel to the bar for drinks because the rooftop bar was closed until summer. Yes the hotel location is the only possible downside for people who refuse to walk 10-30 minutes to a restaurant, yes it's not in almunecar where you have vast choices but the places we visited close by were fantastic. The breakfast buffet was a delight and is a great way to start your day, so much selection. The evening and dinner buffet in my opinion is not worth the price, definitely walk or ask the front desk to book a taxi to almunecar or go to a pizzeria about 10 minutes walk north east, because they have premium food there. Yes, lots of older Spanish people weekend there and they have entertainment every night at the main bar to entertain them, but that's not a downside for me because that's the whole point, if the locals stay there that means it's quality and worth it! Would definitely stay again.
The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful, which creates a welcoming environment. The bar is reasonably priced, which is a nice plus for evening drinks or a relaxed atmosphere. That said, I was disappointed by the lack of basic amenities, especially for a hotel rated as 4 stars. There was no iron provided in the room — instead, you’re expected to use their paid laundry services. The in-room safe also comes at an extra cost, which I found surprising, as this is something I’ve always had included in even 3-star hotels. Toiletries are minimal, consisting only of a bar of soap, shampoo, and body wash. No extras such as ear buds or dental packs were included. We chose the half board option, and while the breakfast was okay, it was nothing special. The dinner was the real letdown — many dishes were either bland, overly salty, or simply unappetising. The quality and variety of food fell far below what I would expect from a 4-star establishment. The dessert bar during dinner was especially disappointing — most options were overloaded with sugar, and the fruit was tasteless and clearly not fresh or seasonal. It felt more like quantity over quality. In conclusion, while the hotel has some positives mainly cleanliness and good service, the overall experience doesn’t match its 4-star rating. I would classify it more as a 3-star hotel, and unless improvements are made, I wouldn’t be likely to return.
**Rating: 3/5 stars** **Pros:** - Friendly and courteous staff - Decent value for money considering price, service, and facilities - Quiet location - Suitable for peaceful vacation **Cons:** - No entertainment program for different age groups throughout the day - Musical performances lack energy and are boring (performers act like they're at a funeral) - Unstable internet connection (disappears at midnight) - Very limited evening entertainment - 15-minute taxi ride to city center **Overall:** If you consider the price, service, and facilities, this hotel deserves 3+ stars, but not 4. If you're Spanish, you might enjoy everything here. However, the music isn't danceable, there's no show program for kids and adults during the day. If you're 60+, evenings can be quite boring. The musicians perform as if they're at a funeral - the music is dull and not cheerful. The hotel is better suited for retirees or Spanish guests. The location is a bit far from the center but not too far, quiet, but boring.
