Hotel Bakal Tulum Downtown

We had a very, very nice stay at Bakal Tulum, and we can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and excellent service. The hotel has a beautiful, peaceful atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed and connected to nature. Our room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated with a lovely rustic-chic style that fits perfectly with the Tulum vibe. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed waking up each morning to stunning views of the beach and the sound of the waves. The hotel grounds are well maintained, with lush gardens, a gorgeous pool area, and direct access to a private stretch of beach — truly perfect for relaxing. We especially appreciated the on-site restaurant, where the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. What made the experience even better was the friendly and attentive staff, who went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Whether it was arranging activities, offering local recommendations, or simply making sure we were comfortable, they truly made us feel cared for. Overall, Bakal Tulum gave us an unforgettable, peaceful escape, and we would happily return for another stay!

Incredible 9 nights at Bakal Tulum! The building was so quiet and peaceful, the AC worked perfectly, cleaning was offered every day, hot showers, and such kind and lovely staff. Emmanuel was so helpful! The rooftop made the stay so much more special! They hung up hammocks and the rooftop pool was beautiful. We watched sunrises and sunsets and could look out over the whole city. We rented bikes to get to the beach from Tulum Bikes which was a minute’s walk and they were wonderful, too. Grocery store is a 5 minute walk, so many restaurants in walking distance, location of the hotel was top tier. Can’t say enough good, we’ll miss this place!

Just be aware the room we had did not have a safe and there were renovations going on inside making it very loud. There was also work being done at the front of the building. The room was very tiny but looked to be new. However we chose not to stay for these reasons.The pool looked brand new but hotel was very quiet and we seemed to be the only ones in the hotel. My partner is a rewards member and was greeted well by the front desk staff. Very close to downtown so that’s one perk but just do your research before you book
