Hotel Belvedere

The hotel feels a little tired and shows signs of age. Despite this there are all of the usual amenities, bar, restaurant and a spa. The staff and management are fantastic making us feel at home with nothing too much trouble for them. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk from the centre of town, which is nice because the area around the hotel stays quiet. There is a shuttle bus going between the hotel and town, access to the slopes or town was never a problem. The food was great with a four course meal every night. I would certainly stay here again and have no problem recommending the hotel to family and friends.

Lovely old hotel, does need a bit of work but I liked the charm of it. The mattresses were very hard, I got used to them but I can imagine some people finding them too uncomfortable. The food was very good and they catered well to vegetarians. The hotel is a fair walk from the centre but there are shuttle buses to take you to the slopes.

If boiled calf tongue, heart and other unmentionable offal (the waitress just laughed and said she wasn’t sure) is your idea of a good evening meal book here. If not stay well clear. Breakfast was little better - 6 cold boiled eggs and stale dessert from the night before is not enough for 40+ people. No initiative to replace items which necessitated persistent requests for more. Hot food items are placed on empty bain-marie trays which without hot water meant everything was cold in minutes. Various facilities were broken / unavailable - bath, sauna, evening shuttle, no tea coffee in the room or even in the dining area after dinner etc. Many guests including us gave up and ate out instead. Rooms were basic and small but acceptable for a 2/3star level. Location is a bit distant from town but walkable with care - the road is busy at night, poorly lit without a pavement.
