The hotel is located in an excellent location - a minute and a half walk from the central square which is lively and vibrant. Roughly across from the hotel there's a market where at night there are quite a few food stalls for those wanting authentic local food, and in the nearby area there are many restaurants and bars at all levels. The reception service is excellent. The girls at reception were always very kind, pleasant, welcoming and helped with everything. The hotel is beautifully designed in the style of an old Spanish hacienda, with well-maintained inner courtyards, furnished in a very warm and pleasant way with lots of vintage touches and very thoughtful investment. The room is large and spacious with many small extras, like a coffee machine with coffee and tea. In the bathrooms and shower there's relatively good water pressure for Guatemala, with small and nice amenities that are better than usual in the area. The beds are comfortable and soft, and it was pleasant and quiet to sleep in the hotel. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing. The meal included in the payment only includes three pancakes, some fruit and coffee. I would have expected more from a hotel that also claims to be a very high-quality restaurant. It was one of the more disappointing breakfasts we had at the various hotels. The hotel has a free jacuzzi and sauna for guests - you just need to notify in advance so they can turn it on.
We had a wonderful stay here. Great location, very close to the park and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful also. Included in our stay was a complimentary drink, free fresh water, and the jacuzzi (free for 30 minutes). The room was well stocked and the bed was comfortable. Hot water and plentiful bathroom amenities. The staff were so lovely for our entire stay! I can’t recommend this place enough!
We stayed at this gem of a hotel before and after a hiking trek, and couldn’t be more pleased with our choice. Beds were SO comfortable, and food and drink in the restaurant, Rioja, were excellent. Staff were friendly and looked after us well. I can’t recommend Casa Marason highly enough.
