𝐀𝐧 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐳𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬! 🌟 This was my first visit to the Azores region, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel was exceptionally professional, and the staff was incredibly friendly—they truly made my stay unforgettable. Everyone spoke fluent English, which made communication effortless, and their manager, Andre, went above and beyond to ensure we felt completely comfortable. Not to mention it is centrally located with walking distance to everything. Coming from America, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this hotel exceeded all my expectations. The breakfast spread was generous and delicious (and included with the stay). For dinner, although American-style dishes were available, we opted for local cuisine—and it was absolutely fantastic. A special moment was when the owner, Fernando, personally stopped by to check in on us. That level of care speaks volumes. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting from North America. Whether you're new to the region or returning, this is a place where hospitality truly shines.
The hotel is in a fantastic part of the city to walk to everything at night. The parking garage (if available) was an unexpected bonus. The daily breakfast was delicious and the rooms were clean. The lobby is beautiful, I wish we had more time to sit and read through the books there. The staff was helpful, especially Pedro who helped me navigate the parking garage safely and car elevator safely.
I stayed at Hotel do Colégio in Ponta Delgada from July 18 to 25. The hotel is in a great location—right in the city center, within walking distance of many good restaurants, cafés, and the main sights of Ponta Delgada. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room was nicely decorated, but the bathroom could use some maintenance. One downside was the lack of in-room coffee or tea facilities. Another issue was the noise at night—the room was very poorly soundproofed. On several nights, I was woken by loud noise from outside. It turns out the municipality recently purchased a garage next to the hotel to store and empty waste containers, which now happens during the night. I would strongly recommend asking for a room that is not on the street side. Unfortunately, when I mentioned this issue to the front desk, no compensation or alternative solution was offered, which I found disappointing. Breakfast was decent, though it could benefit from more variety, especially in terms of cold cuts and spreads. All in all, a pleasant hotel with good service and location, but a few things to be aware of depending on what you value in a stay.
