We stayed only one night at Hotel French Coco, but it was our best night on the island. When we arrived we immediately got a beautiful drink and a warm welcome. The place has a sense of peace created by the lush garden, wooden structures and friendly staff. We loved our suite with a lovely shower facing a small private garden and a nice terrace with a view over the garden. We had dinner at the hotel and the food and wine was amazing.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet part of Martinique. The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated, and have a generous private outdoor space (some with plunge pools). Very attentive service overall, and the food is fabulous! The chef has taken good care to create a flavoursome menu with fresh, local ingredients. (A note about the area - there are a few beach bars within walking distance, but if you are staying more than a day or two, a car would come in handy.) Perfect place to begin or end a longer Caribbean trip!

The hotel itself is lovely, with most staff members being very kind and friendly. The rooms were advertised quite poorly. We had booked the largest room possible (advertised for fitting 3 adults) but there was very little room and no privacy whatsoever. We expected some kind of screen door, not for each bed to face each other only a metre or two apart… This was alright to get behind, though, as, despite misleading photos, the room itself was pleasant and comfortable. However, the restaurant was terrible. Server was incredibly rude, and we waited for 45min to receive menus, then an additional 30min just to get our drinks. We spent 3hrs total in the restaurant, only having ordered drinks and main meals. As I said, the server was incredibly rude and seemed to ignore us, catering far more to people from mainland France… The live music was fantastic though and the musician was lovely. Despite hearing rampant racism from the table beside us about the music, (which I, of course, called out) the atmosphere was great and very romantic. It’s a shame, as food was very good. Wish we could have enjoyed it.
