Hotel JAL City Toyama

A really wonderful hotel, strategically located within 5 mins walking distance to the Toyama train station. The rooms are very well designed, and they think of everything, even have an online monitor of your laundry and the restaurant queue! The beds are comfortable and they even have pillows of different densities - for all the picky sleepers. The toilets and bathrooms are beautiful and elegantly furnished.

Rooms are big-sized compared to other hotel rooms in Japan, with modern interior and a high standard of cleanliness. The hotel location is very strategic. We only had a night here and checked in quite late, but we managed to explore the city a bit by foot due to strategic location. I have some notes on a few things that could be improved, though. First, the breakfast system. We had to queue and if it’s during breakfast peak hour, the queue could get long—not so ideal if you’re in a rush to do the next thing you planned in your itinerary. Other than that, the ability of the receptionist staff in speaking English could be improved too. I wanted to borrow a pair of scissors and had to use sign language and it got a bit confusing for both of us until I used Google Translate.

Their staff are very slow in response and charged us 25% more in room fee. After we discover, although we are in rush of taking bus to airport, they spent 25mins to confirm the issue. Finally they confirm there’s error from the booking system. Dirt is found on the bedsheet, if you concern about cleanliness, this one might be not a good one. Their bed is good but you can hear a little noise from other room. The hotel provides a comfy stay however poor payment experience.
