We were supposed to stay at the Hotel La Union but we arrived to find that it was closed. The whole city was blacked out and apparently they either don't have a backup generator or it's broken or they don't have fuel for it. We had to stay elsewhere. The next day we did come at sunset to have drinks on the rooftop. The views were excellent and I had a chance to look around the hotel built in 1869. It's beautiful.
This hotel is really a work of an art. It has got good architect design to it. It has got that Spanish European look to its design and as such looks very luxurious and beautiful. The food is decent with typical food. They have a service area on the roof with tables where live music is performed mid week. The music is awesome. The live music is performed by Mr. Juan Carlos, the famous singer from Cienfuegos and his band. His music and his voice are amazing! Also they serve good nuts and beer during the concert which goes well with the awesome music!
Good: - Nice view from the rooftop Medium: - the rooms were fine - the pool area was fine - the drinks were fine Bad: - We had breakfast and dinner included. The food was horrible. - if you paid too much the staff assumed it was tips and gave nothing back.
