Hotel Monville

We had an amazing stay! We were surprised to arrive and see we had the corner unit with tons of space: couch, 2 televisions (not necessary but a nice touch), Nespresso, desk and king sized bed. For a weekend it was pretty quiet at the hotel, never getting on the elevator with other people - though they did have 3 very fast running elevators. The roof top patio and bar was also very nice! The location was right downtown and easy to get on the subway. We would absolutely come back.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are compact, but they have all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly, but upon arrival, we were asked to check in using the self check-in, even though there were no other guests at the reception. We went along with it, but it didn’t feel very welcoming. Other than that, we had little interaction with the staff.

If you’re paying anything more than 200$ including tax, you’re up for disappointment. I booked the standard room, which was really small. Besides a rooftop terrace, the hotel doesn’t have any noteworthy amenities. No water bottles served in the room as the hotel is striving to be green. The bedsheet was slightly torn, the room was somewhat dirty, and not completely insulted from sounds/sunlight. The washroom is outside the main bathroom, which is inconvenient. The shower head in the bathroom lacks pressure. One needs to check in themselves using tablets at the entrance — not something you would expect from a 4 star hotel. I was told I’ll be notified when my room is ready, but I never received the notification (yes, I did check both inbox and junk folders for the notification email). That said, the hotel is relatively new, the room has welcoming interiors and is cozy. Furthermore, the hotel is at a great location and provides easy access to metro and some of the best restaurants/attractions in downtown. The staff was also very responsive and open to constructive feedback when I expressed displeasure with my stay, which is a silver lining.
