If staying with kids, please check carefully if dinner and breakfast are included for them. My three- and six-year-old ended up getting just fried rice for dinner and plain rice for breakfast.

I recently heard that Ofutei has developed a vegan menu, so I went there with my vegan friend for a tasting. They offer both dinner and breakfast for staying guests, and the vegan kaiseki course was a truly sensory experience—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. It was just as satisfying and elegant as a traditional kaiseki meal. My friend was really happy and impressed so was I. You can really feel the passion and dedication of the professional chefs toward food diversity. I honestly didn’t expect to find such an authentic Japanese kaiseki meal that’s fully vegan.
