Hotel Orizzonte Niterói by Atlantica

Great and spaciou rooms. Mini kitchen. Excellent balconies with fantastic view. King-size bed. Good shower and amenities. Good breakfast. Courteous staff. Free parking. Beautiful place with lots of leisure options.

It's a decent hotel. Located in an OK location not far from the fairy to Rio. The area feels safe also at night. It's a walking distance to local restaurants and shopping places. The hotel itself have seen better days, but the view towards Rio's bay is amazing. The pool is also nice and the outside bar next to the pool provides amazing scenery and decent drink & prices. For a bit more I would probably stay at the H Niteroi hotel.

From the picturers shown on their website to the appearance of the waters we were fooled! BIG TIME! We arrived and checked in to discover the onsite restaurant was closed and only provided room service. Ok(we thought)and proceeded to our room. We opened the door to find the room looked like it had been lived in and with little clean up after a tenant would have moved out. dust and grime everywhere! We checked out the bathroom where there were wall switch plates and covers falling off. The sink drained very slowly. The suite (If you wish to call it that was quite large but hardly any furniture and NOTHING in the way of wall decor. The bedroom had only one chair and dirty but the bed sheet was clean. We could see the sheet because there was literally NO blanket let alone being made up for a guest. The remote controllers for the air conditioners did not work and one of the two TV's had damaged screen making it impossible to view. No cable and only Over the air digital signals. Only two drinking glasses in the kitchenette. Towels in the bathroom felt rough and not soft at all. We did attempt to change room but were told the hotel was sold out. We managed and were glad to depart. We see after our stay the prices have dropped quite a bit though we choose to NEVER stay at this hotel again. Horrible! Oh... one more thing... Apparently there are tenants living in this hotel and barking dogs ON THE SAME FLOOR. Would you normally see doormats and wreaths on doors?
