Hotel Palau Fugit

We only had scheduled one night stay but we have been won over and will return regularly. An amazing boutique hotel that is architecturally stunning. And the interior design is sublime. Makes you want to just spend your entire stay in the hotel! A fabulous experience that we will want to repeat as one loyal travelers. Hoping to book again soon. Only requests are to create a loyalty program and find a place to add a small gym/workout space.

Perfect location in the heart of the old town. We had a lovely room, ground floor with a small terrace facing towards the courtyard with a dunking pool - perfect for a cool down after a long bike ride. The bed was extremely comfortable! We stayed 5 nights, and while the breakfast was nice (and plentiful), after a couple of days, a different option would have been preferred. You simply get what you’re given (we even ended up skipping breakfast on the final morning and headed to one of the many lovely cafes in the area). We were booked on the cycling package and while our massages were booked in advance (and were very nice!) it wasn’t explained to us or clear how to claim the other benefits of our package which we simply missed out on. The indoor cave pool was apparently booked for us without us knowing and therefore went unused. We would certainly return again, but hope this feedback helps to make some small improvements!

Four stars for rooms: Gorgeous decor and attention to detail. Comfortable beds and welcome message. Warm and very clean. Lovely touches. But: Bathroom facilities a bit strange, sink in the middle of the room a bizarre design feature which didn't work for us. No milk supplied in rooms for tea / coffee. Light in toilet was very temperamental! Three stars for service: Guest information said we could get a drink on the terrace, but we never managed to over the course of our three night stay: the hours of the bar were limited early in the week (shut at 3pm until the next day!) and a bit random the other days. 'Outdoor Pool' is a pond, no way can you swim in it unless you are alone and do one stroke per length. Cave pool (advertised as free in the booklet) came at a charge of 30Euros - I flagged this disparity to the receptionist and she said ours was 'an old booklet' and she'd give it us for free - beware of this, not sure it's worth 30Euros. Otherwise, staff were generally attentive and very helpful. Five stars for location: Right in the heart of old town, this is the place to be. Palau Fugit benefits from massive kerb appeal, it's so beautiful, and you are basically minutes from all the best restaurants and attractions of Girona.
