Hotel Real La Merced

I would have to categorize this Hotel as one of the best in the area. All of the staff were incredibly inviting and helpful the entire time from arranging Taxis to get me to do day trips to shuttles on elsewhere I needed to go and best of all there is a pool to help cool off considering how incredibly hot it can be in Nicaragua. The hotel is located in a very central location where you can walk one to two blocks down for food bars, and anything else you might need. Also they close the front gate at night so it’s super secured. Most importantly, this hotel is owned and operated by Nicaraguans if you support traveling ethically to ensure your money is circulated among the local economy and people.

I loved it here. Steeped in history, across from Iglesia de la Merced. Super comfortable beds, beautiful hotel.

The hotel itself is really beautiful. I love the swimming pool in the center and the elegant pink stairs! The room is spacious with tall ceilings. The location is right next to La Merced Church, where you can pay $1 per person to climb to the top and overlook Granada—highly recommended. The hotel offers a few parking spaces on the street with security cameras, as well as another parking lot a few blocks away. I’m not sure about the condition of the distant lot since we parked on the street. Everything is perfect except for the tiny, difficult-to-use shampoo and soap. I would suggest bringing your own shampoo and shower gel or soap. (Shout out to the hotel: kindly improve this, and I would definitely revisit!)
