Hotel Regina Wengen

Our stay at Regina was great, the staff were friendly & accommodating and the hotel itself has charm. We had the included breakfast each morning and it had a wide variety of local breads, cheeses, meats, tarts and more. We would love to stay again.

We received a very warm welcome at the reception. The staff member gave us plenty of information about walks and places to visit in the Wengen area. We stayed in a very lovely room on the fourth floor, with an absolutely incredible view of the mountains. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, offering a wide selection of cheese, cold cuts, cereals, bread, and homemade cake. On top of that, the hotel is located just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, which makes it very convenient. We are extremely happy with our stay, and if we come back to Wengen, we will definitely return to this hotel. Attached to this review it's the view we had from our balcony 🤩😍🥳

Be careful. Our experience with this hotel and their representatives was absolutely terrible. We had a 25-day trip across Switzerland planned, with 15 hotels booked along the way. Unfortunately, right before our departure, a tragedy occurred in our family — my grandfather, the head of our family, passed away. We had to cancel our trip. As you can imagine, it was incredibly painful, not only emotionally but also because no hotel will give you a free cancellation just a few days before your arrival. With Hotel Regina, we still had nearly a week left before our stay. So, I started reaching out to all the hotels, kindly asking for a cancellation due to the emergency. Some asked for a death certificate, others just requested additional trip details. One way or another, every single hotel agreed to cancel the booking for free, without exception. Even a hotel in Zermatt — our most expensive stay, booked at over €2,000 — canceled without hesitation and showed real compassion for our situation. But not Hotel Regina. Here’s the issue: I understand they have cancellation policies. But they stopped replying through the Booking app. They simply responded, “That’s not possible,” and that was it. I paid them over €700, never stayed there, and they didn’t even bother to reply to my messages. Just complete silence. Absolutely disgraceful service. Yes, technically, they followed their cancellation policy. But this was an emergency, completely outside of our control, that shattered our plans. So if you're considering booking here, please understand that if anything goes wrong, they will ignore you and charge you as much as they can? We’ll definitely return to this beautiful country with friends — but we’ll absolutely avoid this hotel. There’s no reason to pay this kind of money and not even receive a response.
