Hotel Santa Barbara Real

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The service has always been good and the free breakfast is a true breakfast (unlike in the US), with very good coffee, fresh fruit, eggs to order, and a good selection of pastries. The room is not very large, but it's adequate, and it's clean. I found the front desk to be helpful and friendly. Important too is its proximity to Unicentro, very good restaurants and medical buildings. I'm still surprised that the price is so reasonable for this hotel.

The hotel location is excellent, however, the hotel itself is not. I booked a “luxury” room, which ended up being on the top floor, with a balcony that had a 5 feet tall brick wall as a barrier, so you couldn’t have any views of the city, just a view of the sky. I was given a different room after I expressed disappointment with the lack of view, but all the rooms have a black painted ceiling and very dated wood paneling walls, which make rooms dark even during the day. The WIFI Is TERRIBLE, so if you’re thinking of doing any work from your room, you might as well forget it. I could have dealt with the dark room, but not the lack of efficient internet. The breakfast is bad and so is the personnel at the kitchen and dining area. They are rude and don’t allow a guest to bring breakfast upstairs to the room to a guest who is ill and can’t go to the dining area. However the front desk personnel are very helpful and polite. This hotel needs some major renovation in every single category and personnel training. I WILL NOT stay in this hotel ever again.

Not to mentioned the condition of the furniture and the free breakfast and internet that they offer. Everything is a lie, the breakfast yes it was free but horrible! The coffee maker was with tape and it caused me an intoxication! The WiFi and cable doesn’t work at all. I put the complaint with the receptionist since there is no manager at all and she offered me a full refund for the inconvenience. She gave me her word and then retracted. It was a totally nightmare! Since day one I I wanted to leave this horrible hotel but the receptionist denied my petition. She mentioned that I was open to leave but that they will not be able to provide me any refund at all.
