The pool and beach are beautiful, undeniably. If you are looking to escape for a few days it’s perfect. If you are looking to tour Sciley, you are a little out of the way once traffic starts. The hotel was very quiet for August .. one of the unfortunate things was the reason I posted the fridge. In the picture find the price list for fridge contents. We were left with a surprise when checking out the daily water bottles were being charged and we should have known by the price list.. if you can’t see it we didn’t either, it’s a flat piece of paper under the cups. It was very sneaky as we had just come from Greece where we were given a large bottle of water and coffee daily in our rooms. The lifeguards are friendly, the ocean perfect.. breakfast is mediocre, but the cocktails at the bar are great.
This hotel is located in the middle of the road, next to the sea. If you like snorkeling, this place is amazing, I did it every morning. The restaurant and bars have very beautiful views. The big issue for me that they rent the backyard to events, and they party outside with very loud music until 1 am, and I couldn't relax or sleep. Also, at 8:30 am, the cleaning lady knocks on the door very loud to come inside and clean the room. During the lady, they have construction all the time and are super noisy. The goal and chilling, and relaxation were not there in that hotel for me. The breakfast is €20 but very mediocre. For the price I paid, I expected better service and facilities.
The Santa Tecla Palace has some great features but also some real drawbacks. On the plus side, the pool is excellent and the location right by the sea is beautiful. Our room had a huge balcony and a mini fridge, which were nice touches. However, the room itself didn’t feel like 4-star quality. The TV was very small (around 30 inches), and the bathroom had no working ventilation, so we were met with a moldy smell that lingered our entire stay. The towels were in terrible shape, shredded and falling apart, clearly long overdue for replacement. We also tried the restaurant and were disappointed. Prices were high (coperto €8 per person, pasta around €20), but the quality didn’t match. I had a carbonara that was grainy and curdled not creamy at all. Definitely not worth the price. All in all, a nice location with potential, but too many issues to justify the rating or the price. Wouldn’t recommend unless some major updates are made.
