Hotel Shikinoyakata Hakone Ashinoko

This was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had! It is our first time in Japan and was our first time visiting a Ryokan style hotel and this far exceeded our expectations. The staff are incredible - they were so welcoming and kind. The meals were absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented, definitely some of the best food we’ve had on our trip overall. The private onsen on our balcony was so relaxing and had a lovely view of the mountainside greenery and Lake Ashi. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are clean and well designed, they’ve thought of everything. We used the shuttle service provided by the hotel (reserve this in advance of your stay if you want to use it as there are only a few seats in the van) to and from Odawara station which made our arrival and departure completely stress free. We did the Hakone loop one day and there was a bus stop to get on the Hakone transit system a short 8 min walk from the hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - I hope we are lucky enough to return one day!

I was here with my dad for two nights, we had a private onsen on a little balcony with the lake Ashi's view and it was probably the best stay I've ever had in my life. Everything was just perfect from the food to the room, all was nice and clean. A shout out to the staff which is just AMAZING and they treat costumers with a huge consideration and respect. I was very sad when I had to leave. I hope I'll see you guys again!

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and was supremely impressed with all aspects of the hotel. The hotel, service, rooms, onsens and food were absolutely 5 Star level. Great location, close to Lake Ashi. Room was perfect with a private onsen and amazing view of the area, mountains and Lake Ashi. Breakfast and dinner meals were some of the best we ever had! Their service and attention is top notch! I wish I got her name but there was a lovely staff who spoke great English. She was very helpful and we enjoyed conversing with her. I highly highly recommend this place for couples looking to escape Tokyo and enjoy yourself to the max with impeccable hotel service. Thank you for the great visit and experience!
