Hotel Sigiriya

We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed our time here. The staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly, always ready to help with anything we needed. The view of Lion’s Rock is absolutely breathtaking. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, catering to all tastes. In the evenings, we loved the live music at the bar, which created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We chose Hotel Sigiriya for the location not necessarily the stars. The view off Lions Rock is second to none! The resort is very peaceful. Rooms were comfy and very clean. Staff were beautiful. Juices were freshly squeezed. My guide also said that his quarters were the best he has ever slept in, I think this is incredibly important too. Well done!

We were a group of ten and booked four rooms for one night. The rooms were standard with basic amenities. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, and the surrounding scenery is truly beautiful and relaxing. However, the cleanliness of the rooms—particularly the toilets—was below expectations. The bathroom floors were slimy and slippery, creating a potential safety hazard. The WC bowls could benefit from a stronger cleaning agent to enhance hygiene and appearance. For dinner, the food was quite good, but lunch was disappointing. The French fries were excessively salty and oily. The waiting time was also long—dinner took 45 minutes to be served, and lunch took 50 minutes. While the manager was very courteous and helpful, the waiter and waitress were not professional. We asked the waiter three times to switch on the fan, but he kept ignoring our request until we finally asked the waitress. As for the waitress, although the food took 50 minutes to arrive, no cutlery was provided. When we asked, she brought cutlery from another table previously used by a family with kids who had been playing with them. Additionally, the glasses were not clean and had an unpleasant egg smell.
