Nice hotel . Suites with decent sizes. However bathroom was too small and uncomfortable. The shower area not ver clean. Water damage on the ceiling. The rest of the bathroom and suite were ver clean. Good service and close to the historic center.
The hotel staff are amazing. I stayed here for about a week during the high season. They were happy to help with directions and recommendations and were so friendly. The location to the central area is only two-three blocks away. A pharmacy, an Oxxo store and a Telcell right on the same street. You're only a 15 minute walk to the nicer restaurants and art district. The rooftop is wonderful with stunning views. The only drawback is the rooms are a bit outdated. The bathroom was very cramped and the toilet seat and lid with lose hinges.The plumbing was a little awkward because it's an older hotel. It would have been nice to have some paper towels or napkins in the kitchen area. No A/C but you have fans, thankfully because the room is very hot during the summer.
4th time staying here. This time dia de muertos for 4 nights (2nights first at an airbnb) the rooms are deteriorating with not any improvements. Just getting shabbier. Fridge doesn't work well. Smell coming up from shower drain etc. The cleaning staff are very nice and hard workers. I can put up with alot. However this time I got stuck underneath a family with kids right above. Not only do the kids constantly scream but so do the parents. And they are moving tables, chairs, playing football and making it impossible to enjoy our stay. The front desk guy says it's just kids so basically put up with it. Wont even talk to the people. So no more suites del centro. The airbnb was great and next year we stay with her again instead of this highly overpriced place. Things unfortunately change and this time for the worst. Too bad the owners aren't around. The original owners picture is on the dia de muertos alter in the lobby. I think I saw the picture tremble when I was talking to the reception guy. I hope he is thinking about them as he looks at thier picture.
