Hotel Szieszta

Good value for money in a remote and particularily nice are of Sopron. Walking distance to public swimming pool. Hotel manager is dedicated to solve problems if they appear.

Nice quite place on the edge of the town. The rooms are pretty old, but clean and sometimes equiped with fridge. Wellness is not the best, but for the price is adequate. Unluckily only staff that speaks english is the staff on the reception, so if you don't speak hungarian or german you must lead all your questions there.

The hotel is being renovated. One floor at a time. Too bad we got 2 rooms on an old floor: worn rooms not renovated at all since the hotel is built. No AC, terrible noise, sparks, dust and dirt from the renovation straight in the bedroom through the hole beside the heating pipes. The staff is uniformly terrible: very little support, carelessness about the guests. Clearly a leadership/management issue. The wellness area is rather small. Luckily there is free admittance to the pool (Lőver Strand és Uszoda) nearby which is great. We had to keep the windows open during the night. The road in front of the hotel is very noisy. Even the smallest scooter is so noise that it awakens even good sleepers. The food is ok, tasty though not much choice. The poppyseed pie is excellent. We got it 3 times during our one week long stay :-) The area is perfect. Very nice forest and excursion routes. Sopron is lovely. It is 30 min from the hotel by foot. There was a great guided tour in the city on Sunday from the reception for free.
