I would rate Hotel Torifito 1000/10 because its location is very strategic. When you exit Kanazawa Gate, take right side there is traffice light, cross the street, turn right again, and walk around 2 minutes Hotel Torifito will be on your right. I was originally planning to leave my luggage at Kanazawa Station to continue my trip to Shirakawago, but I was informed that the hotel was very close, only a 5-minute walk away. After returning from Shirakawago and having dinner, we checked in and were treated very well. We were even informed about the amenities in the lobby and were offered bath salts for soaking. The room was just as shown in the pictures, with the bathroom (bathtub) and toilet separated. There were three beds, comfortable beds (firm) with a desk and vanity in the middle. Pajamas and bags (for onsen use) were provided for each bed. The room also had a hairdryer and curling iron from Refa brand, which was super cool! The TV also showed information about the onsen, like whether it was busy, crowded, or quiet. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the onsen because it was very crowded at night, and in the morning, we had to hurry for breakfast before heading to Kyoto. The breakfast was AMAZING, with fresh sushi, chicken curry, sausages, eggs, oden… the breakfast was so complete, with fruit, bread, dessert, and everything tasted delicious. Especially the homemade almond tofu – it was the best! Going back… don’t ask! If I have the chance, I would definitely come back and stay longer, not just for a transit. Thanks to all the hotel employees – your service was extraordinary!
We stayed here for two nights on a family trip and had breakfast both days. The hotel itself was fine, but the restaurant/kitchen staff were quite rude. During breakfast, my 65-year-old mother tried to fill her bottle with "hot water" (since there’s no hot water dispenser elsewhere in the hotel, and she didn’t like the one in the room). A restaurant/kitchen staff member stopped her and spoke to us rudely in "Chinese". She also kept staring at guests’ plates without helping to clear them, which made it feel like she just wanted everyone to finish and leave quickly. Speaking aggressively in Chinese to Chinese-speaking guests at a Japanese hotel is especially disappointing and unprofessional, and showing no respect for the elderly is unacceptable. It really ruined our mood in the otherwise beautiful Kanazawa. It deserves only one star if the hotel doesn’t know how to properly train its staff.
Service is not so , we request our luggage to send to our room in the morning as we went out to explore. We went reach the hotel late evening, we saw our luggage still at the reception area, our hands are full with bags , we request again to help us send to the room, they push my luggage roughly and bang the wall. And asked us to push to our room myself. Even though the price are good they still have to help.
