Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

This property is beautiful and relaxing. The atmosphere is very spa-like from the moment you step inside. The signature scent and flowing water make for a relaxing welcome. There are several comfortable areas to sit and talk. The staff is amazing. Every interaction was professional. They are obviously empowered to do whatever is needed to make each guest’s experience superb. I felt like I was cared for as an individual with specific needs. We interacted with the front desk, restaurant bar and waitstaff, and room service. Everyone was wonderful! We experienced a couple of issues with our room that were handled in a way that went above and beyond our expectations. We have always enjoyed Valencia Hotel Group properties. This was our first stay at this property. It will not be our last. The staff built a level loyalty with us that only comes from impeccable service. Our room was quiet and beautifully appointed. The bedding and bathroom amenities were very nice. The honor bar had great choices if needed. We ate at Dorrego’s multiple times. All of the food was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable. The atmosphere was relaxing. This property is obviously very well managed. We left planning our next stay. This will become a regular getaway spot for us!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Valencia in San Antonio. From the moment we arrived, the signature scent throughout the hotel was amazing—a subtle but memorable touch that added to the upscale ambiance. The decor was beautiful, with a stylish and sophisticated feel throughout the property. Our room was large, luxurious, and exceptionally comfortable. The mattress and bedding were top-tier, and we had some of the best sleep we’ve had in any hotel. The hotel is located along the River Walk, though it’s not directly in the middle of the busiest area. That worked well for us—it felt more peaceful, but we were still close enough to walk to the restaurants and shops. We did try Dorrego’s, the on-site restaurant, and found it to be just okay—convenient, but nothing special. San Antonio has so many great dining options nearby that we mostly chose to eat elsewhere. One quirk: there’s an $18 daily “resort fee”, but the hotel does credit it back toward purchases made on-property. However, you can’t use the full amount all at once—it’s applied daily, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. Overall, Hotel Valencia offers a luxurious and relaxing experience, with beautiful design, spacious rooms, and a quieter spot along the River Walk. We’d gladly stay again, especially for the comfort and ambiance.

We had a great stay at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. The location is perfect, and the room was very clean and well-maintained. The overall ambiance of the hotel was elegant and comfortable, making it a pleasant experience. One surprising downside, though, was that the bed did not have a mattress protector or pillow protectors. This seemed like a basic hygiene standard, so we ended up going out to purchase pillow protectors ourselves. It didn’t ruin the trip, but it was definitely unexpected for a hotel of this caliber. Aside from that, everything else met or exceeded expectations. I hope they address the bedding protectors going forward.
