Hotel Wood Takayama

Beautiful hotel with a traditional-looking facade and perfect location to explore Takayama old town, just a short walk to the main streets. We really enjoyed the free flow of sake, beer, and other beverages offered to all guests from 5pm to 11pm which is a nice touch. Parking is provided for free, but do note that it is located uphill at a separate site. It can be a bit troublesome if you plan to use the car often during your stay. However, they do provide shuttle service during check-in and check-out, which was convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, though the interior quality felt a little more basic than expected given the overall presentation of the hotel. Still, overall a great stay with excellent location.

There were two set options to choose from, and although both were decent, it offered less for more money than some places, I’ve stayed. I’d recommend buying for one day and then deciding if you need it for other days during your stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would consider staying again. The service and atmosphere made it a worthwhile experience.

Wow, we had an amazing stay at Hotel Wood Takayama. The staff were very professional, helpful, and polite. When we arrived, they gave us a map with the main attractions and recommended restaurants, which was really useful. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with tea, coffee, bottles of water, and even a pair of slippers. We loved the free drinks offered from 5 to 11 p.m. I got to taste six different kinds of sake, and the staff explained each one clearly in English. Breakfast was delicious and gave me the chance to try traditional Japanese food. They also had a vegetarian option for my girlfriend, which we really appreciated. We left our bags at the hotel before check-in, and when we came back, they had already brought them to our room. The location was perfect and close to all the main attractions. We would definitely stay here again.
