Hótel Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon Hotel

A really great hotel. Perfectly located for a range of great places to visit. Staff were friendly, rooms comfortable and well-appointed (though might have benefitted from a fridge) and food lovely. The hot tubs perfect after a day out and the Wellness room a nice chilled place for a relax. A perfect place to stop over.

A beautiful minimalist building with stunning surroundings, and good for kids; we had interconnecting rooms with our 4 and 6 year old, and it worked really well. The children loved the sauna + jacuzzi + cold lake dip just as much as we did. There’s a small gym that’s totally adequate given the circumstances, and the restaurant is great for dinner. It’s a 5-star experience, but I still have important feedback for the management: 1. The light that comes from the wall-mounted thermostat in the room is insanely bright. I had to wrap a black sock around it or couldn’t sleep. I can’t be the first person to flag this!! 2. The breakfast buffet layout—along one narrow countertop—doesn’t make much sense. When we showed up around 8 am, it was a crowded mob, with people unclear how to enter the line, and unnecessary wait times for simple items. Just spread it out over another table or two! And it seemed budget to me to make my own coffee from one of those machines—more fitting in an airport lounge than a nice hotel. Even if the coffee comes from that same device, hide it in the kitchen and have the wait staff take coffee orders from the table. It’s a far nicer way to start the morning, especially if there’s a long line at the machine.

Beautiful hotel with a nice outdoor hot tub with a view to the glacier. Restaurant serves good quality food. Unfortunately our room was tiny for 3 people barely any room to move, just as well it has other common area where we can sit around.
