Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero

My first time at this hotel and all the staff are very friendly and attentive and they service is excellent. The rooms are clean and the food is good and we had plenty to eat. Plenty at the bar to drink and the cappuccino is great, had lots of it. I love the beach and spend a lot of time in salt water. Javier the community manager, thought me to dance the salsa and was patient and was always checking on us, make sure we were having a wonderful time. The pool is good, the best for me is the beach.

We had an amazing week here and wish we could have stayed longer. The food was great, beer was even better. The snack bar was the best because it’s 24/7 with great food. The room was very clean, the beach is very clean, and the staff were so hospitable and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back!

First off there are a ton of FAKE REVIEWS here. Be extremely skeptical of reviewers without any history of other reviews. Our family was forced to come here after the air conditioning broke in our other hotel (see my other more positive review of Iberostar Tainos). Service: Canadians are unfortunately not particularly welcomed here. This is a spot for locals to spend their hard earned money. Which is great, but the resort charges everyone so much $ that no one tips and the waiters are completely unmotivated. This sets a bad tone overall with dirty dishes piling up everywhere. The guests get grumpy and the cycle gets worse. Beach: the beach is extremely small and is basically volcanic rock, the sand is rough. Even all that would have been great as an attraction, but it is horribly dirty and poorly maintained. Hands down the worst beach I have seen of all the resorts in Cuba. The pictures on the website need to be updated because this is false advertising. Food/Drinks: with the exception of breakfast and the amazing staff at the lobby bar, the buffet was the worst we have had in Cuba. I came down with a stomach bug hours before my flight home and I’m sure it’s because of the cold hot dog I was served hours earlier. Rooms: the rooms are modern with a great shower. Our view was very very nice, and the air conditioning worked, so no complaints. Overall, what a disappointment for a 5 star Iberostar. Shout out to my fellow Canadians who made our stay here memorable and reminding us that we will always look out for each other.
