Very nice location, right next to the beach. Great swimming pool and sauna. Good selection of wellness services. Decent food, not much selection of vegetarian food though.
The rooms we're very clean and the Dinner was really great, but we couldn't get a table every day and we must wait until other finished
This was the third hotel I've stayed at in Kolberg, and it was the worst. First, the good things - The hotel is really close to the beach. The room was really big, spacious. The hotel was really clean. The cleaning staff were super nice. Live music in the lobby in the evening, fun. Lots of couches and places to lounge. The kids room in the basement was really great, also clean, lots of fun. My toddlers loved it. Now, the bad- The staff... Yikes, extremely unfriendly. Approach the reception, be prepared to be ignored. Ask a question - eye rolling. The webpage advertises an outdoor playground, which was not available. When I asked reception about it, (in German) they acted like I was crazy. "We don't have that!" I said, "but, it's on your webpage..." Still, they gave no explanation like, "oh, sorry. It's closed at the moment." Instead, they talked amongst themselves in Polish and sent me to another local playground. I was super confused. Re-checked the webpage, yes, playground advertised. When I returned to the hotel, I showed the pictures and asked again. Now they tell me, "Oh, we don't have that." Still no explanation, that it just happens to be closed. I went to the office to complain, because I was just confused. They finally managed to tell me it was a temporary closure. Why not just say that right away? The office offered us a 10% discount by way of apology, which we couldn't receive because of how we booked. They then offered us some toys for the kids, which they wanted me to pick up. I couldn't be bothered. Why couldn't they just send it up to the room?? The staff seemed very unhappy, confused and badly trained. I had two massages, both were lovely BUT, they played loud pop/r+b music in the room the whole time. No one wants to hear Nelly talking about booties during a massage. The salon also offered no water. The food was awful. Really awful. Tons and tons of quark. Cheap meat and cheese platters at both breakfast and dinner. No bacon. No fresh fruit, except apples and garnishes. No dessert. Lots of jellied meats for dinner (ugh!). The webpage advertised a sandwich maker, there wasn't one, and really great selections for kids. My kids found almost nothing to eat, besides bread and eggs. They have a really awful towel system for the pool. Really limited hours; you end up carrying wet gooey towels back to your room; and not being able to get a fresh towel if you want to swim, after 5pm. Annoying. The towel lady was very rude. We approached for fresh towels, at 2pm, not realizing that the towel exchange is closed then. We unpacked our wet towels, she could easily have said "oh sorry, I can't exchange these now." Instead she glaringly stared at us until all the towels were on the counter. "What do you want?" She snapped. (Auf Deutsch - I speak German) We told her - eye rolling - condescension, "what does that sign say, right there?" She asks, like we're naughty children. "Can I exchange towels now? No!" Wow. Someone needs some customer service lessons. The changing area for the pool was extremely small, crowded with 3-4 people. I can't imagine how full it must be in summer time. The door from outside opens right on the changing area. Embarrassing! The kids pool is 90cm deep... Not good for toddlers. We were guests in winter, so the outdoor pool was closed. I also didn't like the general layout of the hotel... I don't really like walking past everyone in the bar, (being stared at) in my bathrobe, on my way to the pool. My mom and one of my toddlers also got diarrhea really badly. We only ate hotel food, so something didn't sit right. I would never stay at this hotel again.
