Really enjoyed our stay here. Initially I was a bit hesitant to book as there were a lot of comments on the dated hotel. In our arrival the lobby area was being renovated but a temporary lobby was open and was adequate. We received a newly refurbished room which was quite nice. The furniture was up to date and while the bathroom was a bit small, it was perfectly usable. The location of the hotel is great. It’s easy to get into town with an Uber and you usually don’t have to wait that long. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was decent. There was a good selection of pastries, fruits and an egg station. The staff came around and refilled coffee frequently. A couple of minor downsides to the hotel. One was the lack of complimentary water. We thought this was missed when we checked in but when we went downstairs we were told they don’t provide it but can buy water from the mini bar if we wanted. It seemed like a weird way for the hotel to cheap out. The other is, while the renovation is nice, it’s clear a few corners were cut. We had a sensor light in our room which kept turning on and off in the middle of the night which became quite annoying. I would have also expected them to put a smart tv in the room given it’s 2025. Still, we overall enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the hotel if you’re in Medellin

This hotel could be so nice, except for everything that is close to pool. The restaurant with 3 tables took 70 minutes before I went to ask where our food was. The waitress didn't think it was an issue so I talked to the manager. . It took 30 minutes to get a Pima colada at pool bc evidently no pineapple. I had to ask twice and go to restaurant to finally get it. My 14 year old daughter was wearing jeans and sneakers over her swimsuit and when we entered pool the pool manager acted like we were criminals. He ordered her back into the dressing room area to make her take off jeans and sneakers. She was embarrassed to say the least. They 11 lounge chairs in a big area . I don't expect to be treated like criminals especially when I am a diamond member and staying in a suite.

My stay at this hotel was totally disappointing. It does not have the usual standards for an Intercontinental Hotel and falls far short. The executive lounge was also a joke and the food was really pathetic and bad. They didn't even have any white wine and it's also closed on Sundays and only open until 7pm each night. But the IHG employee in there, Nahir Diaz, was awesome. She's a hard worker, has a great personality and even recommended some neighborhoods for me to stay in upon leaving the hotel. She is a definite asset to that property. Other employees not so much which is very unusual for IHG. The pool was very large and nice but it closes really early in the evening at 7pm. Why??? But the food at the restaurant by the pool was really good with great service. The free breakfast buffet was decent one morning and then not really good the next day. My bed was comfortable and the pillows and sheets were fine. All of the different countries flags in front of the hotel are tattered, caught up in trees/bushes that should have been pruned a long time ago and some of them are even upside down! I had a laugh about that. Not a good look and especially because it's one of the first things you see upon entering the hotel driveway. This hotel is going through a much-needed renovation so hopefully someday it will be up to other InterContinental hotels standards. I was put in a suite at the opposite end of the hotel that they were renovating so the noise wasn't disturbing to me. The windows had something from the renovation that's going on dripped all over them, the furniture in my suite was really beat up, the couch had a LOT of stains on it and one of the cushions that your back is supposed to rest on was missing. Not to mention that you can feel the uncomfortable metal bars underneath your legs when you sat on it which I decided not to do more than once mainly because of all the disgusting stains on it. There was also something that looked like ketchup or blood on one of the curtains. Upon leaving I asked the gal at the transportation podium about the cost and it turned out to be 50% more than taking an Uber. Always do not arrange transportation through the hotel because it's a rip off. Also, I did not get my IHG reward "welcome amenity" from the front desk and had to call the 800 number. Lastly, food and drinks that were supposed to be free to me, because of all the issues I experienced at this hotel, showed up on my bill so I had to deal with that upon checking out. This was the worst IHG hotel I have ever stayed at, and I'm a Diamond Elite member with 80 nights so far this year, and definitely not worth the reward points I spent to stay there. I still cannot believe it was branded as an Intercontinental.
