Issam Hotel & Spa

You sure get a good impression walking into the lobby with the white grand piano in the center. The proprietor insisted that all the rooms were the same size but that's just not the case. The first room they gave me had something blocking the window so I asked to switch to a room with a view and the two alternate rooms I was shown were smaller. Like a three-star rating implies, it was okay, but with a superior breakfast. They offer a big indoor pool with just the right water temperature but I didn't swim.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The room smelt like body odour, and was clearly in desperate need of some TLC. The "gym" was dirty, with most of the equipment either broken or rusting, and no air-conditioning. The pool, which we had hoped to enjoy, was completely overrun with school groups and locals, making it impossible to use. Overall, the property fell well below expectations and we would not return.

The room is okay, the breakfast is alright, nothing to crazy though. The service is good and kind, so no problems whatsoever. But the "& Spa" is just a joke. One tiny little sauna that is not really hot. No relax area at all. Showers are super basic. The gym is half broken. Only some dumbbells and one barbell work. Opens all only after 5pm....
