Johari Rotana

Rotana is an amazing hotel located at a very strategic location. Easy to commute to anywhere from the hotel. Next to the Zanzibar Ferry terminal. Behind the hotel is a bustling locality with plenty to offer. Fruits and vegetables market. Breakfast is very nice and plenty of choices. Good and wide rooms. Friendly staff and accommodating.

Booked a double room with double bed. After booking I did email the hotel and inquired about the check in as my flight arrived 3AM in the night. No reply at all. At check in I was given a twin bed room which I particularly didn’t want at booking. There is a pool at the 8th floor - which I was excited to join but due a soccer team occupying the whole pool include each single lounger and chair it was just impossible to join. The hotel is just opposite the boat station to Zanzibar. There is a good vibe and people are busy 24/7. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are big , but certainly overrated to be a 5 Star Hotel. This Hotel is maximum a medium 4 star Hotel (due to large groups and functions held) The breakfast is good and offers a wide variety to chose from. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming!

Stayed at the hotel for a more than a week. It has good, clean and big rooms and it's easily accessible. The challenge is with the kitchen which may benefit from a bit of improvement, especially the breakfast. The hotel served the same stuff everyday with a limited variety to choose from.
