JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen

One of my favourite hotels in Shenzhen when came for work or leisure. Not a great location but quiet location for me. Room was good as I was always given for suite upgrade. From customer services to housekeepers would always present a polite greeting. The only improvement they should consider was the food.

Spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Great views. Fire safety kit. Nice tea and coffee in room options. Amazing soaking tub with bath salts. Excellent laundry service. Restaurants have delicious options. Service is top notch.

I recently stayed at this hotel where I felt the rooms and executive lounge did not meet the standard that we would expect from a JW Marriott. For starters, the outlet in the room we stayed in was poorly installed, with the wiring half exposed! The handle for the bathtub was close to falling off and the cabinet door on the left side of the desk was unhinged. The toilet was also extremely weak, needing us to press the flush button two or more times before it actually flushed. Secondly, they gave us two inappropriately sized pillows for our beds. We do NOT expect this from one of the top rated and expensive hotels on the Marriott Bonvoy app. Third, the so called “Executive Lounge” was filled with little children screaming at the top of their lungs and running around like it was a playground. On top of that, so many people who weren’t even Marriott members could access the lounge as it was included in their rooms, in turn overcrowding the lounge and forcing actual members to turn away. You should limit the amount of people with access to the lounge, to ensure a pleasant experience for its users. The decor in the lounge was okay though and the staff were quite pleasant. JW Marriott is meant to be a luxury business hotel. As a long time member of Marriott, I expect standards to be enforced.
