You can not find a hotel in town that comes close to it if you are looking for an authentic Burmese style and feel. This is a beautiful hotel with great landscape all around the premises and nothing comes close to the architecture this place has to offer in Yangon. Even if you are not staying dining or drinks here is relaxing and peaceful. Clubhouse night club is in the basement if you want a bit more entertainment.
This place is plush. The staff well drilled and courteous. We have the Governor Suite which is lovely with a view of the Shwedagon Pagoda. Surprised by flowers, wine and fruit bowl in the room - also surprised by the prices in the various restaurants here as they are London prices eg $18 for a burger on room service! It would have to be good at this price. Overall though I am impressed and would recommend it without concerns.
Positive: Great service, decent pool and nice garden area Hotel has character Bed and pillows were very comfortable, so you can get a good nights sleep. Other comments: Breakfast was ok for the price. Negative: Falls well short of Novotel max standard (abt same price). Main issues are: 1) cleanliness (room quite dirty in places) 2) room was in need of a complete renovation. 3) food not so good and be sure to ask for no additions to coffee and juices! Both come full of syrups and additives (as per normal customs here)
