My brother and my dad had stayed at this hotel for two nights and the room had 2 beds. The service was wonderful and that the breakfast was wonderful at the club lounge. The location was perfect this is because many people pass through this area daily and is located near a mall.
From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcomed. Extremely efficient check-in with a smile (young lady [Cyprus?] was incredibly professional and courteous!!). The room was spotless; the bathroom layout fantastic. And our view from our floor was delightful. The hotel lobby’s convenient access to the mall is an added touch. When leaving one morning, we literally had 2-3 staff assist us to quickly obtain one of several taxis waiting, and they even helped us get seated. We loved everything about this hotel and will definitely be back when visiting Kaohsiung! Great job Marriott!
I really struggled with whether to give a 3 or a 4 star for this review. On one hand, I have stayed here multiple times and love this hotel's decor, location, and overall atmosphere. On the other hand, this most recent stay had a significant elite benefit downgrade that seriously left a terrible taste in my mouth that I feel needs to be known. The hotel used to provide elite breakfast in its main restaurant, a fantastic experience and for us who spend way too much money at Marriott properties, a good way to appreciate our loyalty. Elites now are limited to have breakfast in the executive lounge, while not terrible, it certainly is in no way shape or form comparable to the main restaurant. There is so little variety, by the 4th day of my stay I went out to have breakfast instead of the hotel. The pools and spas are still as amazing as ever, one of the key reasons to stay here. We were granted a suite upgrade, although a smaller suite than my previous stay, was still much appreciated. Overall, I hope the hotel management understand devaluing elite benefits for your most loyal guests is one of the quickest ways to sink your business.
