Karuizawa Prince Hotel West

we believe this is the best ski resort with easy access from Tokyo. And for that reason, the Prince Hotel here is also very useful. We would like to stay in a villa, but I found this accommodation in West when I was thinking that it was quite expensive during the year-end and New Year holidays. It is small, but it has a terrace, and most importantly, it is new and very clean.

The hotel isn’t walkable from the station but a shuttle circulates the shopping area and the Prince hotel. The hotel is really big so lots of walking . This review is based on my stay back in 2021 Autumn in Japan. Our hotel room was quite far from the onsen and being late hours it’s very tiring having to walk so much back to my room . I strongly recommend to request a room x closer to the spa area. Checkin and out was fast because plenty of staff during that hour. Our room was reasonable in price for the price we paid for . I won’t use the word spacious but it’s comfortable enough. We had morning tea in the hotel and the establishment was huge. Being weekday , there were hardly anyone there ( note - year 2021) . I will stay at the Prince again in Karuizawa but would like to exolore the East Wing next time.

I booked a bit too last minute and ended up choosing the cottage. Be total aware some cottages doesn’t have an aircon which is just confusing why not. Don’t chose this hotel if u r not here for golf or wanting to be near to the station or outlet. Outlet food sucks and it probably takes you forever to get to the hotels restaurant from the cottages l. It just literally takes u forever to go anywhere using the bus pick up system. Otherwise staffs r nice and rooms r clean
