Kazan Hotel Norge

The Home Hotel Bryggeparken in Skien (capital of Telemark) is a pleasant hotel. You feel there “at home”. The staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and cozy. The restaurant serves breakfast, afternoon “fika” and dinner in the evening. The hotel welcomes all types of audience: young and old, individual tourists, families and larger groups. There are rooms available for meetings and conferences. A room with a fireplace and an outdoor terrace offer spaces to relax. The hotel is located on the best spot in town, namely the waterfront (where once Norway’s main gateway to Europe was located with the country’s largest timber industry). You can learn a lot about this during a picturesque boat trip on the Telemark Canals (a unique experience). The start and the end of the trip are within walking distance of the hotel. The center of Skien, Ibsen’s birthplace, is also “next door”. You will find several “footprints” of the greatest Norwegian dramatist within a few hundred meters. The hotel is surrounded by several restaurants, coffee bars and entertainment venues. Unfortunately Home Hotel Bryggeparken does not have its own parking lot but there is ample opportunity to park in the immediate vicinity. Do not forget to pay the parking fee because the controllers are very active in this area. Nevertheless, we will gladly return there and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Its location on the water and proximity to downtown gave us views and convenience. The employees were helpful and fun - and best if all, the food was better than anything I could have hoped for. Every morning was a full breakfast, from 3-5 was a coffee waffle hour, and dinner felt like an opportunity for Thanksgiving. The rooms weren't huge, but I slept like a rock every night. The temperature always seemed perfect, and the beds were comfortable.

Hotel is located in a very nice building close to the water. Location is walking distance to the city center and offers sufficient (paid) parking. Rooms are not really big and a bit dated. Balkony offers a very nice view. Bed is good quality
