Great staff. Very good food and services. Rooms are nice and clean. Comfortable and rather spacious. Highly recommended. Not as fancy as Kempinski in other cities maybe? Walkable to central city but better to use bus or car- so not as convenient location-wise if you walk a lot but it’s close enough

I spent almost two weeks in Mongolia but only three nights at the Kempinski with the rest of the trip in gers throughout Central Mongolia. Let me tell you there's nothing like coming back to the soft beds and quiet rooms at the Kempinski. Arriving near midnight, the desk agent Turbold was about as professional as it gets. His mannerisms would go far in the hospitality industry in the United States. My wife got a massage at the spa, and she reported that it was amazing. I ate pastries and had coffee at the cafe in the lobby. The pastries were excellent. My son and I worked out in the gym. It was sufficient and had just enough equipment to provide a good vacation workout. Let the star of the stay was our dinner at the Japanese restaurant. I will comment on that later. If the food at the other restaurants compares to the japanese restaurant or the cafe in the lobby, The Kempinski easily earns my high ratings. Spending two weeks in Mongolia has been filled with memories. I'm happy to say that the Kempinsky Hotel was an excellent way to start and end my Mongolia vacation.

For a 5 star hotel the experience was simply bad: rooms and food were mediocre to good, but the service was exceptionally bad. Namely we had to spend about 2 hours all together reviewing the incorrect invoice, we were lucky to do that before the checkout, because otherwise we would likely miss our flight. On top of that after the bill was closed they tried to book some services double, which was absolutely unacceptable. Poor English knowledge of some staff, dirty dishes in the restaurant, massage personnel being one hour late for the appointment completed the picture. On the other hand the transfer service, art exhibition in the lobby, breakfast offering and complementary water bottles in the rooms were good.
