Great hotel with clean, modern rooms and very friendly staff. The location was perfect — close to everything but still very quiet. Breakfast & Dinner were amazing, fresh and had a good variety. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovely peaceful and intimate hotel with beautiful grounds. Renate and Shantha are very warm and welcoming. They are also very kind and helpful when something goes wrong! Delicious breakfast, amazing curry for dinner and a great beach minutes away. Lovely big, clean rooms. Worth noting that several dogs live here with the owners - they're perfectly nice dogs however if you're scared of dogs it's not the place for you. The whole family loved it here and we would definitely return. Thank you Renate and Shantha!
This, unfortunately, won’t be a pleasant review. I usually avoid leaving negative comments, but as a fellow traveler, I just want to warn others. We arrived for check-in around 9 PM. The location was incorrectly marked on Google Maps, so we wandered around for over 30 minutes with two heavy suitcases trying to find the place, waking up every dog in the neighborhood on the way. After a long day — including a road trip from Ella and a safari on the way — we were completely exhausted when we finally reached the property. Check-in itself went smoothly, although I had the impression that the person who welcomed us was under the influence of something. He helped us carry our bags to the bungalow. But the real shock came when we turned on the light — there was a cockroach crawling on the chair, and several more on the door… I couldn’t imagine sleeping in such a place. We immediately returned to the reception and met the owners, who turned out to be German. The person who checked us in offered to spray the room, but I said that I would not stay there, especially not knowing what else could be hiding in the bed. When we spoke with the owner, we explained that we didn’t want to stay and were even willing to pay for one night, but she refused and demanded payment for two nights — even though the situation clearly wasn’t our fault. I also explained to her how tired we were after the long journey, but she showed absolutely no empathy or understanding. She simply repeated that spraying the room would be enough and told us that such things are normal in the tropics. I responded that this was not our first trip to Asia, and we had never experienced anything like this before. There was no willingness to compromise, no care for guests' comfort or situation. To make matters worse, we had to urgently book another place last minute, which caused us to lose a considerable amount of money. After reading other reviews, I’m convinced the owner is not interested in maintaining a good reputation — only in squeezing as much money from guests as possible. Very disappointing experience.
