Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort

We stayed here at the beginning of our Sri Lanka trip for a few days with our family and our two kids (ages 3 and 6), and we really loved it. The beach area in front of the hotel is beautiful, and if you walk about 200 meters to the left, you’ll find a sheltered bay where, even with a moderate swell, children can safely splash around in the water. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent, and a special mention goes to Dulaj, who was extremely attentive and friendly – but honestly, all the staff were great. There’s also a lovely restaurant opposite the sheltered bay, about 200 meters further left, which we also really enjoyed. Another highlight was the free kayaking – you can borrow kayaks at no charge and explore the lagoon. With a bit of luck, you might spot swimming monitor lizards and many birds, such as eagles. It’s safe, life jackets are provided, and it’s a great experience. The rooms are very comfortable, furnished to Western standards, with a fridge and daily coffee provided. The service team is super friendly, and the front desk staff are excellent and professional. All bills and charges were calculated and presented very clearly and transparently. We liked it here so much that, after heading to Arugam Bay (see my review there) and staying only one day, we decided to return – and it felt like coming back home. Highly recommended!

All the staff here were extremely friendly and hospitable. The rooms were also very clean and spacious. Furthermore the scenery was stunning and there was a variety of activities such as kayaking to engage in. The food was also satisfying and in overall the while experience was amazing.

Great location, especially the restaurant area right at the beach. Dulaj took good care of us there, thank you for that! The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful arranging transportation. We also loved the pool, although it was quite slippery.
