I am not even going to wait until check out to review this perfect stay. From the first moment, the staff all were all incredibly helpful. The room was enormous and super comfortable and boasted a super sized bathtub. I had the indoor and outdoor communal bath to myself and it was really hot and therapeutic. The restaurant Arpeggio, provided the best meal I have had in 2 weeks of assorted dining experiences across Japan. The French 5 course set dinner menu was sensational. Original and full of fresh ingredients and flavours. Small but good selection of wines (not much knowledge by the staff which is common). Loved the easy bike rental option and they forwarded my luggage on which makes life easier. Such a special but too short visit!
Hotel was very nice . Hot baths on site. No private baths. Separate baths for men and women. No clothing of any kind inside the baths . So if you travel from States and you with kids , it might be a problem to go as a family 😂 Restaurant was closed at 9pm . Also bar was closed at 9pm which was a bummer. During the check in they said it will be open till 11pm , but few minutes after 9pm everything was closed. They also offer a massage service . Outlets 5min away with great deals on designers stuff
Very disappointed with this hotel. It’s pretty pricey, but service was poor. We ordered 2 set of breakfast for adults. My wife decided to have breakfast at her fav cafe nearby, so she didn’t come to have breakfast at the restaurant. I came with my 5yro son and 2 yro son. They refused to give my wife’s breakfast to my son. I only demanded my right, which was 2 set of breakfast and they only gave 1 set of breakfast. Why? Very disappointing. The room was also very old. This is our second time to Karuizawa and this hotel made us don’t want to come back to this city. This is our third time to visit Japan as family, as a solo travel we’ve been to Japan many times. We stayed at 3 star, 4 star until 5 star hotels in Japan but never experienced very confusing service like we were facing at this hotel.
