From the moment I arrived at Los Acebos the staff made me feel right at home. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful—they were happy to share local tips, the glacier is in walking distance and there are mountain bikes available for guests to use. The room? Cozy yet elegant, with windows framing panoramic views of the mountains and sea. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh pastries, local jams, strong coffee, and even some regional treats like Calafate berry yogurt. After long days exploring glaciers, forests, and penguin colonies, I loved coming back to a space that felt peaceful, personal, and a little luxurious. Los Acebos isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s part of the Ushuaia experience. Whether you're an adventurer, photographer, or just someone seeking stillness in nature, this place delivers big time. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

This hotel is perched high up on the hill leading to Martial Glacier, therefore it overlooks Ushuaia harbour, marina with its cruise ships and Beagle Channel in the distance. It has a very spacious dining/breakfast area which also makes full use of its location with far reaching 240° views. One tends to linger here over breakfast which is also quite good. Around the hotel going downhill is a well clipped lawn surrounded by trees. They provide a shuttle bus service for guests to go to the Ushuaia harbour area and come back at set times which we used. Otherwise it will cost you approx US$ 4 one way by taxi. We saw some tough souls trying to negotiate this steep hill on a bicycle🙂 There is a drinking water filling station on each floor which is nice, Apparently tap water in Ushuaia is not potable. We had an issue opening one of the bedroom windows which Mario at the reception very helpfully sorted immediately.

Great views. Wish we had done some of the hikes out of the area near this hotel. Went to the national park, but think the views and hikes would’ve been better here. Food was excellent. Views from restaurant for dinner and breakfast were amazing. One suggestion that I would have on a trip to Argentina is to bring your own good sized coffee cup, or mug. The coffee served locally are in very small cups. I am a big coffee drinker.
