Mantra On Mary

Visited a friend who works there, and hung around for a bit in the lobby and public spaces. The place is right in the CBD, so the location’s a win. The lobby was neat and staff at reception seemed polite, even though I wasn’t a guest. My mate showed me a standard room—looked tidy and had a decent view, but the decor felt a bit dated. Not terrible, just not fresh. Elevator was a bit slow, and the corridors felt kinda dark. It’s probably fine if you're in town for work or just need a base, but it’s not the kind of hotel where you’d want to spend heaps of time chilling indoors. Functional more than anything. Would I stay? Maybe, if the price was right.

Very dated and tired building. Room was poorly decorated with soiled cream carpet. Second bed was inside a tiny alcove looking like a walk in robe. Not other furniture around it, not even a bedside table or lamp. Shower was located inside a very high bathtub, which was incredibly difficult to climb over if you are an older person. We asked for the higher floors but they couldn't accommodate us. Price of room was not worth it at all. Wanting to extend our stay in Brisbane, we moved to another hotel around the corner for a better room with a view of the River and wheel, and we even saved money. Unless they upgrade and renovate, I can't see myself returning.

Arrived and welcomed by friendly and helpful front desk lady. Room was dated, some strange stains on the couch and a musty smell to the place, the curtains were hanging off in places so unable to fully block out city night light. This hotel is next to alot of major construction so stay is quite noisy. To top off a number of roaches found. Staff great, location good. Room not
