Location is absolutely beautiful with the lake, mountain views with snow capped mountains. The views are amazing from the lake views rooms, and all dining areas. It’s so beautiful it looks like something from a movie and unbelievable. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly and very accomodating. Alex went above and beyond helping me with my Milford Sound booking and the best places to go to see the sights and they did not disappoint, all exceeded my expectations for New Zealand. Alex is truly a valuable asset to your team.
We booked two rooms and had one car with us during our stay. The parking fee was $15, which is reasonable, but it's worth noting that parking is limited and not guaranteed. Fortunately, we were able to secure a spot, but availability could be an issue during busier periods. The rooms themselves were pleasant, nicely furnished, with comfortable beds and a generally clean environment. However, the bathroom did not meet expectations. It felt somewhat outdated, with visible stains in the bathtub and noticeable hair and dust on the floor, indicating that it hadn’t been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The selection was limited, and there weren’t many options to choose from. That said, we did enjoy the smoothies served in glass bottles, they were a nice touch. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. However, the housekeeping service left much to be desired. They didn’t fully clean the room during our stay, in particular, they did not dispose of the trash we had left behind and mainly just made the beds. Overall, the location is convenient, the staff is hospitable, and the beds are comfortable, but there’s room for improvement in cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Our garden view room had mattresses that sunk right in, sitting down you bump into the hard bed base. We discovered our kids mattress and sheets were covered in blood. Absolutely disgusting. The bath tub also had hair in it. Moved to a lake view where the mattress was decent, highlighting how absolutely terrible the garden view room was. Cannot believe the vast difference within the same hotel. The carpet was dirty, perhaps cleaned in a rush. The breakfast food was a disappointment on all fronts as well as small portions when it comes to the pastries. The staff particularly Alex and Lucy were good 👍🏻
