Stay- nice, spacious rooms, basic amenities are there. Toilet was bad, flush wasn't working properly and water stagnation. Breakfast- excellent options in the buffet, tasty food! Dinner - we had a terrible experience. We went very tired and hungry with kids at 6:45 pm and they had nothing but snacks at this time due to their menu which is Time-boxed like a ticket counter!! Certain items available only until 10:30 am, some only in noon, some only until evening, some from evening but not at night, etc. - are you kidding me?! It was almost 7 pm when we ordered but they refused to take orders for chapati cos they can be ordered only after 7 30 pm. Finally we were forced to select from the "evening menu" but in that also many items like cutlet were not available. Then what's the point of such timed menu. If you eat early due to health reasons, seniors who need to eat on time due to medication etc please avoid this hotel. Overall no customer focus at all in service from my point of view.
We stayed at Minerva Grand and overall had a pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the washrooms were clean, although the flooring was quite slippery since it was not anti-skid — so guests need to be cautious. ( this is quite a serious concern and would be nice if the hotel looks into it as myself was about to slip and fall off a couple of times). The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of options. The food was yumm. However, the dinner service at the restaurant in the evening could be improved. There were very limited options available, and many items were served only during specific time slots. For example , chapatis, rice and North Indian dishes were available only after 7:30 PM. It would be beneficial if a full-fledged dinner service could start by 6:30 PM instead — as 7:30 PM is quite late and as a healthy practice having dinner before 7pm is good. Also, the use of dhoop (incense smoke) throughout the premises could pose an issue for guests with allergies. I experienced severe cold and throat irritation due to the smoke, which could have been avoided. It would be helpful if the hotel could reconsider doing this to ensure the comfort of all guests. Overall, apart from these points, we had a good stay
While minerva has been my goto Hotel preference for past few years. The room quality has gone down in recent years. Good to see they are trying to renovate. But it’s coming at a cost of continuous drilling through the day. It was horrible, all through mornings until evening 5 there was drilling. I had 3 night booking. Friday noon I checked in and till 5 it was horrible drilling and again Saturday after 9am the drilling started. It was absolutely horrible. If you maintenance work ongoing, stop providing service until it’s over.
