We enjoyed stay in the hotel next to Vevey. The rooms are modern, great breakfast ( full of fruits veggies, local cheeses). Rooms are very clean and great view on the mountains. We enjoyed walk to Vevey, around 30 min. Also very very quiet, and great for calming down.
A pleasant check-in experience — we arrived late from Montreux, but the staff was still present and welcoming. They kindly brought us an ice bucket upon request, which we appreciated after a long journey. A thoughtful touch: each floor has a refill station with both still and sparkling water. Just a heads-up — our room had an open shower without a door, which might not be to everyone’s taste.
Very disappointed with my stay at Modern Times Hotel, Vevey. As a long-time Marriott Bonvoy member, I’ve come to expect a certain level of quality and service from Marriott properties — sadly, this hotel fell far below that standard. From the start, the staff were quite unfriendly and didn’t make us feel welcome. The room itself was a huge letdown: it wasn’t properly cleaned, there were visible stains on the bathroom floor, and the bed sheets had a strong unpleasant odour, which made it really hard to sleep. There was no air conditioning, and the ventilation was terrible — we were sweating all night. For a hotel in this category, it was shocking that there was no fridge or kettle in the room. Even the hair dryer was filthy, and the replacement we received was just as bad. Overall, the whole experience felt uncomfortable and unhygienic. I honestly can’t believe this property carries the Marriott name. It really hurts the brand’s reputation.
