After a long safari trip on the mainland of Tanzania, we spend the second part of our honeymoon at the Next Paradise Boutique Resort for relaxing. For us this was the perfect place and it was really a paradise. Every single person who is working at this hotel is fantastic. Everyone was very attentive and made our stay as enjoyable as possible. One can really feel that the people working at this hotel are putting a lot of love into it.

Very beautiful hotel. It really feels like Paradise – the palms, fresh local fruits, beach area, pool, nice staff and good massage. Super service - special thanks to the manager Anna and Nema! The rooms are clean, beautiful and cozy. In the restaurant they ask you for allergies and in advance you can order something different to dinner or get gluten free bread in the morning (highly recommended). The Next Paradise hotel offers snorkeling, a tennis court and other activities. The beach area is wonderful. On the beach you have the opportunity to rent a jet ski.

My friend and I usually stay at higher end hotels but this one was a bit different than we needed on this particular trip. I think it's geared toward people not wanting to leave the resort. We could have done without the half board (breakfast and dinner) as we really didn't even care for the food they served. The breakfast was decent but the dinner was not to our liking and we skipped it entirely a few of the nights or just went and sampled the appetizer. The service is definitely top notch 5-stars from the owners to every level of staff. The grounds are kept clean, pool sparkling and refreshing (although too deep to stand in - weird), and everyone is ready with a smile. Anna is lovely and so helpful and welcoming at every encounter. The air conditioning can't keep up in the large (rather undecorated) room and keeps it barely cool-ish and there's no way to take a cold shower. The light switches are a bit of a mystery and a game to figure out by the bed and there's no full length mirror. Funny things like that just don't fit the cost of the stay. The balcony door doesn't fully close (I'm sure just warped from the sea air), and toilet doesn't flush well. The bathrobes are nice and the towels are soft. Of course the prices are higher within the hotel for anything from waters to tours and taxi transfers, but that's to be expected. You are provided a fridge, but it's in the rules not to bring in outside food or drink which was a downer. The fridge is only for the mini bar which contains things like $4 small waters and $6 beers. They do provide you with a complimentary large water every day and pretty tasty instant coffees to use with the provided kettle. It's a very nice place, but compared to the place we stayed in in Stonetown that was so nicely decorated and paid such close attention to detail and had such excellent food, I just expected more for the price. When coming in, there's a sign on road to the right, then you'll see the double black gates to left (with no sign). The Maasai will let you in the gate.
